Nothing to do with identity crises. Nothing more than a sign indicating the social rank I belong to.
Meanwhile, this way I show my loyalty to the superiors by saving them time and energy. Time, from having to search on me for the signs of my ranking, and energy, from having to impose their superiority on me.
This way, I also make sure that not-for-a-chance, coming from an unusual appearance or by an accidental tone of my voice, I could be mistaken for a superior.
